UNICEF and IL&FS Education partner to implement CCE in Assam
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced a number of steps to reform the education sector. The Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system is one such reform, which works on analytical approach an assessment model. The objective of the CCE Training programme is to facilitate the migration of CBSE schools to school based assessment that covers all aspects of student's development. CCE emphasizes on two fold objectives ranging from continuity in evaluation to assessment of broad based learning.
The programme empowers schools and teachers to conduct school based assessments and to integrate formative assessment in classrooms.
To further strengthen the implementation of CCE in India, UNICEF and IL&FS Education have partnered to execute the evaluation system and impart teaching learning solutions in Mathematics, English, Science and Life Skills in 20 government primary schools (child friendly schools of UNICEF) in Rani and Rampur blocks of Assam.
Under this initiative, teachers were given training as per the CCE system and an array of TLMs was also provided. Monitoring visits and hand holding support were given to teachers to implement the programme in their respective schools.
